Day 1 : Arrival in Cusco
Welcome to one-time capital of the Incas, Cusco, from where you will start your incredible discoveries of the Inca Empire. Your private guide will welcome you at the airport of Cusco upon your arrival and will take you to your hotel, a contemporary escape in Cusco’s fairytale hideaway. After a welcome briefing, you can start Cusco sightseeing according to your preferences. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 2 : Cusco sightseeing
The visit of Cusco, is a great opportunity to travel back in time to XII-XIII centuries and to feel the unique atmosphere that reigns in this ancient city of the Incas, surrounded by four exceptional archaeological sites which were protecting Cusco before the arrival of the conquistadors. Learn more about the water cult ceremonies in Tambomachay, named also ''bath of the Inca''. Explore the specific features of a military fortress from the Inca period in Puka Pukara. Visit Qenko, another important ritual center of the former Inca Empire, where sacrifices and mummification took place, and reveal the secrets of the impressive citadel of Sacsayhuaman with its huge blocks of stone ideally superimposed into the natural landscape. After lunch, you can explore the San Blas district to soak up the colonial past of Cusco. You can discover also the Pre-Columbian Museum of Art, which has a large collection of archaeological artifacts from all over Peru. Spend an evening at your leisure. Day 3 : Round trip by train to Machu Picchu
Today you will have an unforgettable experience on board of the luxury Hiram Bingham train. You will reach the incredible Machu Picchu, the mystical Incan citadel of the 15th century, also called “lost city”, located on a rocky promontory, in the Andes. This magnificent sacred site of the Incas will take your breath away. Explore the crowning achievement of the Incan civilization with your private guide and uncover its best-kept secrets. Late in the afternoon, take again the elegant Hiram Bingham train and journey back to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 4 : From Cusco to Sacred Valley (2h driving)
Today we will take you to Ollantaytambo, a town in the mysterious Sacred Valley of the Incas. Why sacred? Because everything grows there! Up today the Sacred Valley is valued for its geographic and climatic characteristics. Located at an altitude of 2,800 meters on average, the climate is particularly mild there throughout the year. This is where the best corn is produced, sacred food of the Incas. Exploring the Sacred Valley you will have the opportunity to discover impressive Inca ruins, amazing landscapes, charming small villages and vast agricultural terraces. Take the time to wander in Chinchero, a small pleasant village famous for its textile manufacturing whose inhabitants still wear their colorful traditional clothes. The agricultural terraces of Chinchero, dating back to the time of the Incas are used until today. Later you will arrive to Ollantaytambo where you will discover not only the ruins of Ollantaytambo fortress with its famous wall of 6 monoliths, but also the narrow streets of the city to feel its typical charm and unique atmosphere. You will surely meet Peruvians walking their lama, these iconic animals of Peru. Overnight in Ollantaytambo.

Day 5 : Cusco departure
This morning enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before taking the road to Cusco Airport. Before to reach the airport, you will have the opportunity to discover the circular agricultural terraces from the time of the Inca civilization in Moray. What were the main specific features of these terraces and their irrigation system? Discover it during your visit. In case you have time your guide will be glad to make you discover the impressive salines of Maras. More than 3000 basins, used since the time of the Incas, are still exploited by Peruvians who are living in the surroundings. Later, you will arrive to Cusco Airport from where you will take your departure flight.
