Day 1 : Arrival in Cusco and drive to Sacred Valley
We are glad to welcome you in the capital of the Incas. Your private guide will welcome you at the airport of Cusco upon your arrival and will drive you directly to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Day 2 : From Sacred Valley to Cusco (2h driving)
Today you will explore Ollantaytambo with your private guide. This city of the Sacred Valley has its unique charm and atmosphere. From the ruins of Ollantaytambo fortress you will admire the beautiful view on the Valley, walking in its narrow streets you will have the opportunity to meet Peruvians walking their lamas, the iconic animals of Peru. Later, you will take the road to Cusco, the one-time capital of the Inca Empire. Cusco is the right place to learn about the Incas, their history, lifestyle and rituals. Day 3 : Cusco sightseeing
Translated from qechua, Cusco means “center of the earth”. Today you will have a full day to discover with your guide why Cusco was considered by the Incas as the center of the earth. You will discover their amazing architectural achievements on which the conquistadors built their monuments later on. Your guide will make you discover the archeological sites surrounding Cusco (Tambomachay, Qenko, Puka Pukara, Sacsayhuaman) which will give you the opportunity to learn about different rituals of the Incas, such as water cult ceremonies, mummification process and sacrifices and much more. Once you return to Cusco, don't miss to wander in the narrow streets of the charming San Blas district. And why this place was of great importance to the Inca elite? Day 4 : Round trip by train to Machu Picchu
Today you will discover the most famous monument of Peru, the extraordinary Machu Picchu. What is it famous for? Who ordered the construction of this incredible monument and for which purpose? You will discover it during your visit. There are different ways to get to the ''lost city'' of the Incas, we are glad to offer you the most pleasant and comfortable journey on board of Hiram Bingham luxury train, launched specially to escort its guests in lavish style. After exploring the mystical Incan citadel of 15th century, you will return to Cusco by the same train. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 5 : Flight from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado
Today you will leave the Inca’s capital to discover another side of Peru, the fascinating Amazon rainforest. For that, you will take the flight to Puerto Maldonado, the starting point to reach the Tambopata National Park, one of the jewels of the Amazon rainforest. There you will discover the Amazonian flora and fauna with the help of your experienced naturalist guide. Upon your arrival to Puerto Maldonado, another driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the boat which will take you to your hotel. Once settled in your hotel, you will start exploring the Amazon rainforest. Your guide will give you all the necessary explanations. After dinner, you will have the chance to observe the night monkeys. Overnight in Puerto Maldonado.

Day 6 : Amazon rainforest
Today you will discover the amazing Lake Sandoval. You will board a carved wooden canoe to calmly paddle through the mangroves and then sail across Lake Sandoval, flanked by beautiful palm trees. This serene lake is inhabited by thousands of species of birds, the endangered river wolf, howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, anacondas, turtles and black alligators. After the canoe tour, you will reach your hotel for lunch and in the afternoon, you will cruise for about 20 minutes by boat on the Madre de Dios River to climb the exciting Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, a safe and sophisticated system of suspended bridges with two panoramic observation towers which offers an unforgettable opportunity to observe the Amazon forest from the treetops and understand its colossal dimension. You will have the opportunity to observe the beautiful toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys and the three-toed sloth. At dusk, you will explore the forest by walking listening the wild sounds of the jungle. Overnight in Puerto Maldonado.

Day 7 : Puerto Maldonado and departure
Today, after breakfast, you will take the boat to reach Puerto Maldonado Airport for your departure flight to Lima from where you will catch your homebound flight. It’s a great time to observe how the Amazon rainforest is waking up to wish you goodbye. Before to arrive to the airport, you will have the opportunity to stop at Mariposario (Butterfly farm). Peru has the largest variety of butterflies in the world, with 3,700 known species. Many of these can be seen in the Butterfly Farm, which showcases the diversity, beauty and adaptability of these fascinating insects.
