Day 1 : Arrival in Lima
Your private guide will meet you upon your arrival at Lima airport to start your tour in the land of the Incas. Your arrival to Lima will give you the possibility to go up in altitude gradually. Hence, you will soak up the colonial past of Peru before to discover the Inca civilization masterpieces. According to your preferences, you can explore the historical center of Lima, you can wander in Barranco district to discover the bohemian atmosphere of the capital or just relax in the famous Kennedy Park located in the heart of the Miraflores district. Day 2 : Flight from Lima to Arequipa
The next step of your trip will be Arequipa, another exceptional example of the colonial settlement of Spanish conquistadors. You will reach Arequipa by flight from Lima. Upon your arrival, you will have free time to walk in the historic center of the city. The streets and alleys around Plaza de Armas are particularly pleasant. The visit of Arequipa will give you the opportunity to travel back in time to XVI century and admire religious citadel of Santa Catalina, which is actually remained intact. For the overnight, you will offer you the possibility to spend it in a colonial house of XVIII century to make your experience more pleasant. Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 3 : From Arequipa to Canyon del Colca (3.5h driving)
Having discovered the colonial heritage of Lima and Arequipa, you will take the road to the Canyon del Colca, to discover also the amazing landscapes that offers Peru. Along the way we will cross the Reserva de Salinas y Aguada Blanca. This reserve offers breathtaking landscapes nestled in the middle of snow-covered volcanoes. On the way you will have the opportunity to stop and see herds of alpacas and the famous vicuñas whose wool is the sweetest and most expensive in Peru. It only gives 300 grams of wool per year. Later, we will arrive to Chivay, one of the typical villages along the Colca Canyon where you will meet rural people who come to sell their crops and crafts in the small village market. You will spend the night in traditional bungalows, with ambient interiors echoing the natural beauty of the Andes. Overnight in Yanque.

Day 4 : From Canyon del Colca to Sicuani (5h driving)
Today we will take the road to Sicuani, a stopover town between Canyon del Colca and Cusco. But first, your guide will take you to the Cruz del Condor, from where you can have a breathtaking view on the Colca canyon and observe the Andean condors hovering over the canyon. On the way to Sicuani, always crossing the Reserva de Salinas y Aguada Blanca, you will admire different species of birds as well as mammals. You will have the opportunity to spot flamingos, deer etc. Other magnificent landscapes will be reserved for you crossing the La Raya pass, before reaching Sicuani in the evening. Day 5 : From Sicuani to Cusco (3h driving)
Today you will finally reach one of the most beautiful cities of Peru, the capital of the Incas, Cusco. This amazing city will perfectly illustrate the rich heritage of the Incas. Here you will admire not only their architectural jewels but also you will learn about the customs and traditions of this ancient civilization. Your private guide will help you to uncover different strange aspects of the mysterious world of the Incas, their beliefs and their lifestyle. You will stroll through the narrow streets of Cusco, especially in San Blas Neighborhood. You will admire it’s perfectly preserved Inca foundations and extraordinary stone with 12 angles. Day 6 : Cusco sightseeing

Today you will explore the four archeological sites near Cusco and your guide will clarify all these questions. You will learn about the cults of the Incas by visiting Tambomachay. You will get more information about the sacrifices and mummification exploring Qenko. Surely, you will appreciate the architectural genius of the Incas by visiting the impressive citadel of Sacsayhuaman. Later you will have free time for your leisure. Day 7 : Round trip by train to Machu Picchu
Was it the last city of the Incas where they fought against the Spanish conquistadors or just a royal palace? The incredible Machu Picchu, built on a rocky promontory in 15th century, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the wonders of the world still full of mysteries. Today, you will take the luxury train named after the American explorer Hiram Bingham who discovered Machu Picchu in 1911 and you will reach this amazing architectural jewel. Once you are on the spot, your private guide will welcome you there to make you uncover its best-kept secrets. Day 8 : From Cusco to Sacred Valley (2h driving)
Today you will explore the cradle of the Inca Empire, the mysterious Sacred Valley. Why it was considered as sacred for the Incas and for what it was valued? The Sacred Valley of the Incas is well known for its impressive Inca ruins, amazing landscapes, charming small villages and vast agricultural terraces. Day 9 : From Sacred Valley to Cusco Airport (2h driving)
TToday your private guide will take you back to Cusco, from where you will take your homebound flight. According to your flight schedule, your guide will be happy to make you discover also Maras and Moray on the way to Cusco Airport, two other witnesses of the genius of the Incas that you will surely appreciate. Moray is famous for its circular agricultural terraces from the time of the Inca civilization. Stimulating up to 20 different types of microclimates, the conception of these terraces demonstrate the incredible scientific thinking of the Incas.
